Archbishop’s Visit on June 19th
In celebration of OLP’s 100th Anniversary, we are happy to announce, Archbishop Nelson Perez will offer the 11:30 AM Mass on June 19th, the exact date when the parish was founded 100 years ago.
June 19th is also the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of The Lord, commonly known as Corpus Christi. Since Eucharistic processions are traditional on Corpus Christi, we’re planning a car procession with the Blessed Sacrament from OLP to ND immediately following the 11:30 AM that day.
Here’s what we’ve planned:
- With the assistance of the police we will have a procession of cars (like during a Funeral) and those on foot, from OLP to ND’s parking lot via Milmont Ave to the Michigan Ave. driveway of ND’s property.
- Once parishioners have parked their cars, they’ll assemble near Nelson Hall (gym building) in ND School yard/parking lot.
- We’ll form a procession two by two leading the Blessed Sacrament carried by the Archbishop from the parking lot into the front doors of ND Church. Mrs. Kathryn McDermott will be leading the procession in song.
Afterwards all are invited to a reception in Nelson Hall with Archbishop Perez.
Once inside ND Church we will conclude the Corpus Christi procession with Benediction.
Afterwards all are invited to a reception in Nelson Hall with Archbishop Perez.
