Thank you for your generous contributions to the Pontifical Missionary Society. So far $600 has been collected. Your contributions, as Father Bernard reminded us, supports numerous global missionary initiatives. Envelopes for the Pontifical Missionary Society can be found at the entrances of our churches; and they may be placed in the collection basket or dropped off at the rectory. Thank you again for your financial and prayerful support.
Similarly, the annual Archdiocesan Catholic Charities Appeal continues. To date the Catholic Charities Appeal has achieved sixty percent of its $10 million goal. Contributions to the Catholic Charities Appeal support:
- Social Service programs such as the Nutritional Development Services
- Evangelization efforts which benefit the programs of the Office for Life and Family, and the Office for Persons with Disabilities
- Special Education programs
- The revitalization and sustaining of mission parishes within the archdiocese
- The care of elderly and infirm priests

For the past two months we have shared updates about our goals associated with the Next Generation Parish initiative. Several of these goals have already been apparent within our parish.
- Coffee Sundays are celebrated on the third Sunday of the month at Notre Dame de Lourdes. Please join us this Sunday, 18 August after the 9:30 a.m. Mass.
- Enhancements to our liturgies have included a variety of instrumentation as well as the reintroduction of our adult choir and the introduction of our children’s choir.
- Upgraded lighting at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church including within the Sanctuary and the Sacristy.
