Thank you to all our Drama Program volunteers for a most successful Karaoke evening on Saturday, 5 October. The Karaoke singers added to an entertaining evening that featured face-painting, assorted games, vendors, and a surprise visit by the Cowardly Lion! Thank you also to our friends from Roma Deli for donating the hoagie trays. Thank you to our friends from Relish who brought their Relish on a Roll catering vehicle. Thanks also to our friends from Kona Ice for the delicious frozen treats. We are blessed with so many wonderful, caring neighbors. Thank you again. The Wizard of Oz will be this year’s show. Nearly seventy performers have auditioned for the show. We look forward to their Spring 2025 production and for their occasional visits to our parish Masses this fall, and winter when they will showcase their talents for all of us to enjoy. Blessings to all.
Shortly, in mid- November, our parish will celebrate its Annual Christmas Bazaar, at Nelson Hall at our Notre Dame de Lourdes site. This will be followed by the Winter Fest celebration, on the grounds of Our Lady of Peace, on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you for your support, thank you to our volunteers, and thanks to all who have assisted in the preparation for these wonderful parish celebrations.
World Mission Sunday, sponsored by the Pontifical Mission Societies, is next Sunday, 20 October. Their 2024 theme is: “Go and invite everyone to the banquet.” (Matthew 22:9) The World Mission Sunday collection was inspired by Blessed Pauline Jaricot who founded the Mission Societies in 1822. World Mission Sunday “serves as a clarion call to mobilize faith, resources and action in support of the Mission Church in places where the faith is young, growing, or facing particular challenges.” Your generous donation helps to educate children, assist catechists, and educate seminarians. Additionally, the Pontifical Mission Societies manage shelters, provide healthcare clinics, and provide for the needs of Religious Sisters serving the impoverished throughout the world. Further information about World Mission Sunday, including a collection envelope, can be found at the entrances of our Churches. Also, you may scan the QR code on the envelopes for further information about donating. Thank you.

Lift Up Those Who Have Fallen
Holy God, you are our comfort and strength in times of sudden disaster, crisis, or chaos.
Surround us now with your grace and peace through storm or earthquake, fire or flood.
By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, sustain those who work to rescue or rebuild,
and fill us with the hope of your new creation; through You, our rock and redeemer.
