It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deacon John Ellis, Sr. Deacon John has been a treasure of goodness and faithfulness to our parish for the past decade.
Deacon John was responsible for organizing, scheduling, and training our altar servers – of which we have so very many young parishioners serving. Additionally Deacon John assisted with Baptismal preparation and scheduling, weekly homilies each Monday, leading our Monday morning prayer group, as well as assisting with funerals, internments, wake services, and the annual Mass of Remembrance in November.
Deacon John organized our vigil candles. It was because of him that our votives at both Our Lady of Peace and Notre Dame de Lourdes shine so brightly.
As we light vigil candles for the repose of his soul we keep him, his wife Kathy, and all the members of his family close in our prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
