Blessings as we conclude our Thanksgiving weekend celebrations. I pray that you enjoyed a special time with family and friends in celebration of all the abundant goodness that God has shared with you. In this season of giving and thankfulness we are reminded of those who face food insecurities throughout the year. Bins are located at the entrances of both of our Churches this weekend in support of the Philadundance Food Bank. Thank you for your generosity.
Giving Tuesday is this Tuesday 3 December. Thank you for supporting Notre Dame de Lourdes School in this our 65th anniversary year.
On this First Sunday of Advent, as we light the first candle of the wreath, we pray…
Lord our God, we praise you for your Son, Jesus Christ: he is Emmanuel, the hope of the peoples, he is the wisdom that teaches and guides us, he is the Savior of every nation. Lord God, let your blessing come upon us as we light the candles of this wreath. May the wreath and its light be a sign of Christ’s promise to bring us salvation. May he come quickly and not delay. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
O come, desire of nations, bind in one the hearts of humankind;
bid ev’ry sad division cease and be thyself our Prince of peace.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
